I've just about had it with the public transportation in this town. Tonight my train was both late and packed. (And by packed, I mean PACKED. I got to know my fellow passengers a little too well, if you get what I'm saying.) My commute, which is about 12 miles, takes about 20 minutes on average. With public transportation, it takes.....[drum roll] one hour. If all goes well. Which is why I bought a parking pass for work. For the first time, in over 10 years.
I'm all for saving the environment, but some days I just want to save my sanity!

That's pretty much why I don't take RT to work. That, and the schedule is so far off of my own work schedule that I'd need to go to work at a different time. No thanks.
it works really well if you live in just the right place... don't give up!
When I lived near Campus Commons and worked downtown, it worked great. When we considered moving to our new neighborhood, it seemed like it would continue to work great - which is why we were OK to move where we did. Not so much in reality. Also, the gas costs caused more people to ride - which is great! - but RT is not set up to handle the increase. It's frustrating. Now that I've calmed down I'm looking at a combo - drive part of the week, RT part of the week. Should be a good balance.
That's really ridiculous of Sacto pub transpo. Shame on them.
